Westchester County is one of the wealthiest counties in New York State. It's proximity to Manhattan with bucolic countrysides, lavish estates and generally upscale homes makes it very desirable indeed. It is also home to many celebrities. Debra Winger is one of them. She is best known for her role in "Terms of Endearment" (1983) and recently has appeared in the T.V. series "In Treatment" starring Gabriel Byrne.
This is a lovely house with a great view across the river. Unfortunately, several rail lines (a major drawback) separate this property from the riverfront. Imagine the noise when a long freight train passes in the middle of the night. A second drawback is that the property tax last year was $42,351 which may not be a big deal to the rich, but seems much higher than the more or less standard annual property tax mill rate of 1 percent.
